Singapore authorises PARIMA’s cultivated duck, marking the company’s second approval.
Paris, France – April 15, 2026. PARIMA, a global leader in cell-cultivated food, has become the first company worldwide to obtain regulatory approval for two different animal species, duck and chicken. Following an extensive and collaborative review process, the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) authorised PARIMA’s cultivated duck in April 2026, following the approval of its cultivated chicken in October 2025.
This milestone reflects the sector’s transition into a more disciplined phase, where leaders are recognised by their ability to secure multiple regulatory approvals and product launches at commercial scale. By successfully navigating the SFA’s pre-market approval framework for novel foods for a second time, PARIMA demonstrates that its platform can deliver repeated regulatory results across species.
A model built for scale
PARIMA’s technology was developed to bypass the bottlenecks that defined the sector’s early stages. It uses high-performing cell lines that grow efficiently in large industrial bioreactors. This process does not use genetic engineering or modification, or depend on scaffolding materials to structure the product.
Instead, PARIMA’s cells grow freely in suspension in a food-grade nutrient medium designed to ensure stability, affordability, and compatibility with global novel food regulations.
This technology platform also underpins PARIMA’s cost trajectory. As highlighted by an independent third-party analysis, PARIMA has a clear pathway to a production cost of below €10/kg. Since the same system can be applied across different species and products, it supports both industrial scale-up and a consistent regulatory pathway.
“The approval of our cultivated duck product marks a new chapter not only for PARIMA but for cultivated food more broadly,” said Nicolas Morin-Forest, CEO of PARIMA. “In a sector moving from promise to proof, repeatable regulatory success is becoming a clear marker of platform strength. By securing approvals of two species within a few months, we have demonstrated the potential scale of our platform and core technology. Our focus now is commercialisation to deliver high-quality and safe products at meaningful volumes.”
“The team has cleared major technical bottlenecks with unusual capital efficiency, while advancing one of the strongest regulatory positions in the category across multiple species. PARIMA is setting a new standard for execution in cultivated proteins,” said Christian Nagel, Partner & Co-Founder at Earlybird Venture Capital.
Repeat regulatory validation in a key market
Singapore is one of the most advanced markets for cultivated food, with a strict and transparent novel food approval process focused on safety and traceability.
By working closely with the SFA throughout this second review process, PARIMA ensured full compliance with all requirements for novel food approval.
The approvals for both cultivated chicken and duck confirm that PARIMA’s production process is robust and safe, meeting the expectations of the SFA.
Preparing commercial launch across markets
As the first company to receive regulatory approvals for two different species, PARIMA is entering a new phase focused on commercial scale-up from premium culinary segments to high-volume markets.
PARIMA has built its regulatory roadmap around high global standards to enable expansion across jurisdictions. With seven active regulatory filings across Europe, Asia, and North America - including the first-ever cultivated food application submitted under the EU Novel Food framework [read more] PARIMA is developing one of the most extensive regulatory pipelines in the sector.
In the UK, PARIMA’s cultivated duck and chicken dossiers are the only two validated applications currently under risk assessment, with the duck dossier recognised as the most advanced in the process. This follows PARIMA’s selection for the UK’s Regulatory Sandbox on cultivated products in 2025 to accelerate scientific evidence gathering and regulatory innovation.
Through scalable bioproduction and established distribution partnerships, PARIMA is positioned to serve both high-end gastronomy and targeted retail with safe and economically viable cultivated proteins. This strategy is reflected in its culinary brand, GOURMEY, whose cultivated duck products have already earned the endorsement of Michelin-starred chefs and leading global meat distributors.
