PARIMA Becomes the First European Company to Obtain Approval for Cultivated Meat

Paris, France – October 23, 2025. PARIMA, a global leader in protein innovation, has become the first European company to be granted regulatory approval to market a cultivated meat product, marking a major milestone for Europe’s food landscape and the global advancement of cultivated foods.

The first approval within PARIMA’s global regulatory pipeline was granted in Singapore for its cultivated chicken, following an extensive and collaborative review process with the Singapore Food Agency (SFA).

The SFA’s rigorous, science-based framework for cultivated food is recognized as one of the most advanced worldwide.

A milestone for European innovation

“This approval is a testament to our approach,” said Nicolas Morin-Forest, CEO of PARIMA. “It validates the safety and robustness of the core foundation of our multi-species platform and strengthens our position to lead the market introduction of high-quality, economically viable cultivated proteins across multiple markets. Our mission remains clear: to develop resource-efficient solutions that broaden access to high-quality, nutritious foods and meet the world’s rising demand for protein.”

“This approval is a landmark for European food innovation and the global cultivated foods sector,” added Etienne Duthoit, founding member of Cellular Agriculture Europe, the leading association representing the sector in Europe, and founder of Vital Meat, now part of PARIMA. “This first approval builds on the dossier and advanced technology developed by Vital Meat before joining forces with Gourmey to form PARIMA, whose combined expertise now underpins one of the most advanced cultivated meat platforms worldwide.”

The Singapore approval marks the first milestone in PARIMA’s broader global regulatory pipeline, which now includes eight active filings across major international markets.

Singapore, a global benchmark for food innovation

Singapore has become a global enabler for cultivated foods and food innovation, combining rigorous standards of food safety with one of the most vibrant culinary scenes.

Over the course of the review, PARIMA worked closely with the SFA to demonstrate compliance with their regulatory requirements for food safety, quality, and transparency.

A springboard for global roll-out

For PARIMA, this first approval in Singapore provides a launchpad for a broader Asian go-to-market strategy.

PARIMA has already generated strong commercial traction, attracting interest from leading culinary partners and major agrifood groups for its protein portfolio.

PARIMA now leads the sector with eight active regulatory filings across Europe, Asia, and North America, and previously achieved another milestone as the first company to seek novel food approval for a cultivated food in the European Union.

With cultivated chicken now cleared, PARIMA is on track to become the world’s first company approved for two animal species in the cultivated food sector: chicken and duck. This dual-species strategy enables PARIMA to serve both premium and high-volume markets.

PARIMA is positioned to demonstrate that scalable and economically viable production of cultivated foods is now within reach. Built on validated industrial models and guided by the highest food-safety standards, the company combines scientific precision, industrial efficiency, and culinary expertise to scale production across multiple species and market segments.
